MMA Referee & Judge Accreditation Course
We are happy to announce our next MMA officials course:
Saturday & Sunday June 27 & 28, 2026.
FightCross MMA. 91 Clyde Road, Herston, Qld.
Head of Officials - Peter Hickmott, will host this 2 Day course and cover all aspects of mixed martial arts officiating.
MMAA are looking for more enthusiastic people to join our team. To do so, you will need to successfully complete the course.
Day 1 (Saturday 27/06) will cover Fight Room Inspectors, Corner Marshalling and the all important MMA Judging criteria.
Day 2 (Sunday 28/06) will be an indepth disection of the Unified Rules for Mixed Martial Arts, MMAA's unique 2 Tiered Amateur rule sets, referee cage control and our Code of Conduct.
In both courses, you will deep-dive into the rules of MMA, the judging criteria, breaking down each area and working our way through the importance of judging to arm you with the crucial knowledge to become a better judge. You will be fully aware of the rules and fouls associated with foul play, intentional and accidental, and help you understand the correct processes to ensure a safe and fair competition.
These courses have been designed for everyone involved in Mixed Martial Arts. Whether you are a coach and want to better arm yourself on the rules, a competitor reaching the end of your competition time and want to give back to your gym, a MMA enthusiast and want to understand the sport more, or even better: want to become an MMAA Accredited Official, these courses are for you.

(In order to successfully complete the Referee Course, you will also need to complete the Judges Course. The Referee Course cost is inclusive of both courses.)
